Extra Long Black Tea - Del Colle
Black tea is a very ancient tea, cultivated for millennia in India, China, and Japan.
Today, plantations are also found in Indonesia, the Caucasus, America, and East Africa.
It is said that black tea originated in the Wuyi mountain area in the Chinese Fujian region. A group of farmers working on the tea reportedly forgot the fresh leaves in the sun to welcome a band of soldiers who suddenly arrived in the village.
To prevent the tea from wilting and spoiling completely, the farmers roasted it with pine leaves and thus created the fully oxidized variety we know.
Properties: Black tea contains theophylline and theobromine, substances that, besides having a diuretic effect, possess stimulating and invigorating properties.
